A Conversation about Life is a fictional retelling of several accounts of real-life situations.  Though the characters in the story are entirely contrived, their tales are true and experienced all across the globe, including in the lives of many who will read this narrative.

It is not meant to give all of the answers to life; rather, it is written in such a way that will seek to elicit conversation…conversation about life.  The book is written from a Christian perspective, decidedly agreeing with the premise that all life was created by God, and nothing that is made was made, without Him.

However, many views on life will be expressed from an unbiased point of view, giving the reader the ability to hear what people the world over believe about life.  Obviously, not all views will be covered, seeing as how there are people in regions yet unexplored that undoubtedly have theories of their own.  Furthermore, a book containing every known belief concerning life would be too lengthy to publish in one volume.

Some of the stories in this book may seem a little shocking, but all follow the pattern of reality.  Somewhere in the world, many of the things mentioned are occurring even as you read these words.  Though they may escape the small world in the viewfinder of our eyes, this does not mean they have come to an end.  Some things may strike you as unjust, but such is the reality of a world where men judge what only God can.

Not every detail of each story is written in full, allowing the reader to imagine what they may about individual characters.  At the same rate, some details would require more words than is necessary to relay the point of this book.  It is written as truth, though in the form of fiction.

As you read, wonder about your own reactions in the given situations.  It is easy to call a person a fool from your couch, (consider the children of Israel on their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land), but people react differently when in situations where life and death are at stake.  Likewise, it may be easy to pattern your words in a conversation when your opponent, the couch, does not respond in turn.  What does matter are the words you speak when actually confronting one whose opinion may differ from yours.

Life is an ever-present topic of controversy; as is truth, reality, religion, and all such things that are kept in high regard among thinking men.  People tend to desire living in a bubble where their beliefs are the soft watery shell, lifting them into the air, only to be popped by the slightest gust of wind, rather than living in the real world where arguments occur, disagreements shape dialogue, and beliefs are proven faulty.

Resist the temptation to mold yourself after the likeness of the person in the bubble.  If your foundation is solid, you just may have the words to life on your tongue.  The question is; will you speak the words of this life, or choose to bow to the fate of death?

The choice to live is in your hands…
